Plate Glass
|
| Machine-made glass that has been ground and polished so that it is free of flaws and distortions. It is usually at least 1/4 inch thick and is used primarily for bevels, mirrors and large store windows. Until the early 20th century, polished plate was optically much clearer than standard window glass. |
